“America’s Got Talent,” one of the most popular shows on TV, has a knack for finding hidden gems. And it looks like Kevin Skinner fits the bill. As soon as this apparent “hillbilly” speaks, both the live audience and the judges laugh…

If you heard him talk, you’d think he went straight from the woods to the stage without stopping. They could expect to see fiddles, fights, and jugs of moonshine at any time.

When he talks about his job as a chicken catcher, the crowd laughs out loud. He says that he would sometimes catch thousands of chickens in a single day. Even though they have doubts, the judges tell him to start his act.

As Skinner shows off his skills as a singer and a guitarist, the crowd stays quiet at first out of respect and maybe even skepticism, but then slowly becomes amazed. Skinner’s performance knocks everyone’s jaws off and brings the house down, leaving both the audience and the judges very impressed.

One of the judges says it best: “There’s a moment in every season, I can remember them all, when someone comes on stage dressed like you are; your cap is on backwards, and you know, we’re all like, ‘This is going to be a total car crash…’” And you will have me in about twenty seconds. And by the end, it was one of the most emotional and powerful performances I’ve seen in a long time.”
