A teenager thoroughly impressed the judges and studio audience, winning the coveted Golden Buzzer on Canada’s Got Talent.
Life can and often does come with many twists and turns, going in unexpected directions. These surprises can take good and not-so-great forms. One young lady was a massive shock to the judges and the studio audiences on Canada’s Got Talent.
Maya Gamzu, a 14-year-old originally from Israel who now lives in Toronto, confidently walked onto the stage, exchanged pleasantries with the judges and announced that she’d be singing. But what happened next left everyone in the room in utter astonishment. No one could believe their ears.
Maya began singing Christina Aguilera’s “Something’s Got a Hold on Me” and unleashed her powerful, beautiful voice. She lets loose with a series of high notes, showing off her impressive range at the same time.
The judges turn and look at one another with their eyes wide with disbelief. It’s clear they are all instantly blown away by the teenager’s stunning voice.
“Excuse me?” one of the women says to a fellow judge.
The studio audience gives the young and talented singer a well-deserved standing ovation.
Maya, while talking with the judges after her performance, admits that Christina Aguilera is someone she admires musically. It’s startling how much she really does sound like the “Genie in a Bottle” singer.
Kardinal Offishall, like some of his fellow judges, was not thrilled with her song choice. However, the young woman’s talent is undeniable, and her potential is off-the-charts, a sentiment with which Kardinal agrees.
“I have such a belief and I haven’t been wrong yet, but I really do think that with the right song choice, that you possibly could win all of Canada’s Got Talent,” he says.
Because of her absurd talent, Kardinal slams the Golden Buzzer, causing confetti to fall from the ceiling. The teenager is overwhelmed!
Psalm 89:1 “I will sing of the mercies of the Lord forever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”
