Most people who are 90 are taking it easy and enjoying life in the slow lane. They are reaping the benefits of their hard work.
A Desert Sage Manor resident in Hermiston started the tradition 20 years ago. It is part of the Hermiston Police Department’s annual Christmas Express program, which helps families with food and other things during the holidays.
Since then, the hardworking senior has made more than 2,000 quilts for the police.
This year, a Hermiston woman who is 90 years old made several quilts for people in need. KEPR officers gave her a certificate for her kindness.
Bonnie has made more than 100 quilts by hand this year to help people in need.
